I’ve been on a huge
sweets kick recently, which for me has been highly unusual, as I’ve always
preferred savory foods instead of sweet. I do however have one weakness and
that would be peanut m&ms – in college I would go through Costco size bags
of peanut m&ms every week. I had a large craving for cookie bars last night
because who doesn’t want an obscene amount of chocolate on Valentine’s Day. I
added just about everything I could think of into the cookie bars, ooey, gooey,
and the perfect sweet/salty mix.
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups of AP flour
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ tablespoon melted unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup of white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peanut m&ms
- ½ cup semi- sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup sweetened coconut flakes
- ½ cup crushed pretzels
DIRECTIONS:
Pre-heat
oven to 350*F
In a large bowl mix up all your dry ingredients together. In a smaller bowl mix
together all your wet ingredients and then dump it into the large bowl. Mix
everything well together to make dough. Fold in your m&ms, chocolate chips,
coconut flakes, and pretzels – make sure everything is mixed in well together.
Spread
the dough on a large baking sheet in a thin layer and bake for 20-25 minutes,
until golden brown.
Enjoy!
