Animal Prints for Summer

Animal Prints for Spring

Throw your hands up in the air if you are only wearing a light jacket today! This time two years ago, I was still wearing my winter jacket and it snowed on my actual birthday. Today, I’m romping around Chicago wearing just my jean jacket and I’m definitely not complaining.

If you followed along in Instagram this weekend, you may have noticed that I had quite an adventurous weekend with my best gal pals. Saturday afternoon we took in the Cavaila: Odesseyo show that’s been in town for the last few weeks. Confession time; I’m not a huge fan of horses in general so the fact that I made it through the show without wanting to leave was a feat within itself. Second, my friends and I joined Rachel and her hubby for the Lincoln Park Food Truck Festival. It was an awesome idea, however the lines were so long to get food we barely got to enjoy each others company.

On days like this past Saturday, I prefer to keep my outfits casual and basic. I picked up this silver turtle shirt dress a few weeks back during a super sale weekend at LOFT. (I think I paid about $35 for this dress) and it’s already becoming a favorite of mine this season. Unfortunately, the dress sold out that weekend and I haven’t found anything that comes remotely close to this print just yet.

Animal prints are making a subtle comeback this year, in a unique way. I’m also loving this bird print shift dress that I saw in Nordstrom a few days ago. From sea turtles to flamingos; I expect this summer to be filled with adventure and wild life.

Anyone have any plans for this upcoming weekend? Well don’t forget that I’m co-hosting the U30X Meet Up brunch featuring a special guest. We’re also giving away and amazing prize that night so if you are interested in traveling this year, stop by and say hi!
